Voting is an essential process in electing new leaders. Various factors including age, race, class, region, religion, and education may be used in predicting voting patterns. The influence may either attract voters or disinterest voters. The age of a person influences voting pattern. The older an individual becomes the higher the earnings may increase and therefore, they will come out in large numbers to vote on conservative policies such as reduced taxation that will favor their interests (Shook et al., 2020). The youth, on the other hand, are not likely to participate in voting as they are likely to focus more on education and employment issues as opposed to voting.

Ethnic and racial groups influence voting in myriad ways. The minority groups who largely live in the congressional district will likely participate in voting regardless of the ethnic background of the presenting candidates. As Brown et al. Regions influence voting based on the demography, the size of the district, and the weather conditions. The less educated will not understand the importance of voting or policies and may likely refrain from voting or vote without any understanding the choices they are making. People of the higher social class will vote on conservative policies that lower taxes. Low-class individuals do not have choices most of the time and will vote on what benefits them at a given moment without evaluating the long-term goals.

There have been changes in how the citizens and voters perceive emergent issues within the society. Education level has not been predictive in most elections as votes are cast based on policies. Being Christian does not predict one winning an election. People from different denominations have voted for individuals with whom they do not share the same beliefs. Social class has gained less influence among voters as policies guide the voting outcome.
